A successful press-fit is invisible. A bush fitted at an angle, a bore out of tolerance, a part inserted the wrong way round or missing lubricant all produce a part that looks correct and will work loose in service. Final gauge inspection catches only some of these defects, and always after the event.
The F3 display acquires force and position simultaneously. The load is no longer an isolated figure but a force-displacement curve, in other words the signature of the assembly. A conforming part follows a known profile. A defect changes the slope, the peak or the point of first contact, and becomes visible before any later inspection.
You define your tolerance windows in both force and position. The display assesses every cycle automatically, gives the operator an immediate verdict and transfers the results to your quality system.
The electronics are designed for the shop floor: they install at the workstation, withstand the production environment and accept a force transducer as readily as an encoder or a position transducer.
Defects are caught at assembly, not at the customer's site. Results no longer depend on how the operation felt to the operator. Every part carries a usable record, which meets the traceability requirements of major manufacturers.
